El Caballero Amara (Mara) is a veteran broodmare who produced the lovely Rosalinda for us in the 2007 season. She has good conformation, and good movement.

Mara is in foal to Poseido for a January 2008 foal.

Mara is a delight to ride: sensitive, responsive and with an apparent powerhouse in her hindquarters that really propels her along. She is sure-footed and keen, but seems to take extra care with inexperienced riders - standing stock still as they nearly slide over the 'other side' on mounting. We have noticed that Mara seems to look after older foals that are nearly ready for weaning - keeping them company on their adventures, and perhaps keeping them out of trouble.
