The horse will take such delight and pleasure in his keeper's company, that he shall never approach him but the horse will with a kind of cheerful or inward neighing show the joy he takes to behold him, and where this mutual love is knit and combined, there the beast must needs prosper and the rider reap reputation and profit.
We are pleased to stand The Valedictorian on behalf of the Yarra Valley's Bywater Stud for the 2010/2011 breeding season.
The Valedictorian (Tory) was assessed by Matthias Werner during the 2010 Trakehner Verband inspections. Tory wowed the assessor at the 2010 Trakehner Verband inspection, leaving the assessor "feeling emotional". Assessor Matthias Werner described Tory as possessing everything that is desirable in a riding horse, from the masculine beauty of his head to his the build of his hindquarters. Tory was awarded 80% for conformation, and 78.5% for movement - achieving 8s for his walk and trot scores, and 7.5 for canter, and 8 for swing & elasticity.
The Valedictorian shows very impressive extensions in the trot, and has huge power in his hind end. His progeny have been impressive to date, and are showing great potential for the olympic disciplines.
The Grand Prix Trakehner stallion Valuta was short listed for the 1988 Seoul Olympics before his rider was tragically killed in an accident. He combined size and elegance with a flawless temperament and excellent movement. He won champion warmblood stallion at the Royal Melbourne Show in 1982, 1983 and 1985, and had had many Grand Prix dressage championships to his credit.
The thoroughbred mare, Mindari, was an advanced level eventer and medium level dressage horse with Victorian rider Del Ogilvy before being retired to stud.
