Fugitivo XII has an athletic body and a generous nature. He was purchased in Spain by three-time Olympian and six-time Spanish National Champion, Juan Matute, for Shelly and Jim Lucero, who imported him to the USA. Juan Matute runs regular clinics in the US, and has been supervising Fugitivo's career under rider & trainer Heidi Gaian (Villa Rosa Dressage) since his importation.
Heidi, a successful FEI competitor, is also a USEF “R” dressage judge who has earned gold, silver and bronze USDF medals. Heidi feels that the “suppleness combined with a power that is unusual for a P.R.E. horse" make Fugitivo a special stallion. Fugitivo XII is a very kind stallion, even though he has so much power, he is very easy to handle. Heidi belives that Fugitivo XII has a natural ability for piaffe and passage and is competing him at Prix St. Georges level.
Juan Matute has a reputation for selecting top horses from the finest blood lines in the world. He has an eye for qualities such as gaits, nobility, beauty and balance of mind, and has a proven performance record with his young horses that go on to compete at F.E.I Grand Prix. Juan is responsible for bringing the best P.R.E. stallions to the U.S., including Gaucho III, Rociero XV, Copon and Fugitivo XII.
Fugitivo XII’s bloodlines represent Spain’s best. Bred by Nahman Andic Ermay, he is out of Fugitiva VIII, a descendant of the influential stallion Agente. Through that line, Fugitivo XII is related to several of the Spanish horses that have paved the way for the P.R.E. in international dressage competition. Fugitivo XII’s famous relatives include Olympic horses Evento, Oleaje and Invasor II. Fugitivo XII's sire, Aguileño II is also a Calificado stallion, and competed successfully at FEI level dressage. |
